ESA Wonderful Wednesday - February 26, 2014

Happy Wonderful Wednesday!

I have a couple of reminders as we are closing in on the end of the sorority year….

First, if you have not registered for Convention in May, please do so as soon as possible. Convention City Committee of District II is really looking forward to your registration form in the mail. “ESA’s … A Wonderful Life” will be the theme of the weekend with lots of angels among us at every turn and event. There will be surprises here and there. A change or two planned to make it a WONDERFUL weekend.

We will be having a two-part Workshop at Convention. There will be a presentation from our IC Rep, Sandy Alexander. I do not have the details yet, but it will be something important coming from IC and Headquarters. The other part of the Workshop will be a presentation from Past Texas State President, Darla Schitoskey’s cousin, Pat Grissom, who will be discussing domestic violence and her life in that world. Pat wrote about her experiences in the book Too Much Gold to Flush – The Gift of Infidelity. As part of the Caring and Sharing efforts this year and Pat’s presentations, we will be donating to women’s shelter, The Bridge, in the Houston area. Bobbi Dinsmore will be leading our efforts in the donations and will have details regarding the types of items the shelter needs. So stay tuned for that information in the coming weeks.

Do not forget to send in your donations for the State Project – March of Dimes and Helen Pearson Scholarship. End year donations are still welcomed. Of course, Barb Atkinson will always collect your dimes and paper money, even a check, if you desire. Please make your check out to Texas State Council, not March of Dimes or Helen Pearson.

Speaking of year-end, I think I will start inserting due dates and deadlines, so they will not be missed!

  • March 1, 2014 – ESA Song Contest Entry Form is due.
  • March 1, 2014 – Outstanding Youth Award Nominations is due.

Now for the IAWL Question for this week! This is Oscar week! So with that in mind and the technical aspect, understanding there is more to movie making, than just the actors, such as staging, sound, props, set design, film, editing, hair, makeup, costuming, musical score, etc. So, the question is regarding the filming…Was IAWL filmed in black and white or in color?

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to the following sisters (and brothers) for the coming week!
Kate Alexander – February 28 of Lambda Nu, District 5
Mary Wheatley – March 1 of Zeta Tau, District 2, PPAC member, and PPAC Chairman
Wayne Williams – March 1 of Theta Alpha, District 7
